Wednesday 10/9/08 @ 15.30Z.

Unfortunately, we had to abandon all plans for this weeks activation of EU-007 due to severe wx and sea conditions. Crossings are not possible at this time as all sailings to the island have been cancelled. We apologise to all who have been waiting for this one, however, we are still planning to activate EU-007 at a later, safer date. All major reflector/bulletins will be updated of any progress.

As a team activity, the team are currently en-route to Bere Island, EU-121 and will be QRV from here this evening, all signing their indivudual callsigns, ie. EJ9FBB, EJ5GM, EJ4BZ and EJ/G4AXX. QSL via personal CBA. Thankfully, a sailing to here is guaranteed.

Wednesday 10th September.

Just a brief update to inform you all that all is going to plan, and that we are currently getting ready to leave for the island. WX is calm enough at present so I'm hopefull that we can make the landing. Once all goes to plan, we intend to be qrv by this evening (18.00z) and will be running 2 HP stations. Mark, G4AXX met with the team last night and is now on ' Irish turf ' so finally, it looks like all is complete and ready to rock - literally!! Heres hoping that the wx holds off for another few hours.

Monday 8th, September.

Here is the latest update. Less than 36 hours before our departure to the Island, a weather alert has been issued for the next 3 day period. This is the latest forecast from Met Eireann, the national Irish meteorological service.

Current Warnings: Weather Warning in effect, Gale Warning in effect, Small Craft Warning in effect, Blight Warning in effect.

However, we are still going to try our best to actually go ahead despite of these warnings. From Wednesday morning, there will be no more updates until hopefully after the operation. We're keeping our fingers crossed that the WX is on our side and that we can make the landing. Hoping to be on the bands by Wednesday evening.

Sunday 17th, August.

Dates are now confirmed and official. Team is finalised. Will publish this info amongst the major DX bulletins and reflectors over next few days. Equipment list is made out so the prepatation can now begin.

Mark, G4AXX has organised a second amplifier and thanks to Steve, G4EDG, we have a full set of ICE band pass filters on hand. It is now confirmed that we will have 2 HP stations QRV.

Already made contact with Emil, LZ3HI who is our qsl card printer and we have already started the qsl card design. This will save time, and so upon our return, we will just have a few more photos to be added, so the printing process can begin.

The team are in constant contact via reflector, exchanging ideas and thoughts.
